Privacy Statement

Meer Hotels and all affiliated companies (hereinafter referred to as MH) respect your personal data and ensure that the personal information provided to us or otherwise obtained by us is treated confidentially. Personal data refers to all information about a person. Data that indirectly says something about someone is also personal data. The following implements the information obligation laid down in the GDPR to the data subject(s) whose personal data MH processes.

Data controller and communication

MH processes personal data in order to be able to offer services, to be able to improve services and to be able to communicate personally with you as a data subject. MH often uses a third party to evaluate our services. You as a data subject make the choice to participate in this and to leave personal data behind for this purpose. You can also sign up to receive a newsletter or other forms of communication from MH.

Purpose of processing personal data

MH processes the personal data mentioned below exclusively for the purposes mentioned below: - being able to confirm a booked stay in our accommodations - being able to invoice accommodation costs - being able to contact the guest prior to the stay - meeting our legal and statutory obligations, including the municipal tourist registration - marketing and communication activities - recruitment and selection.

Which personal data are processed?

MH processes the following (types or categories of) personal data for the purpose of providing the service or which have been provided by the data subject on their own initiative:
- Name, address, place of residence (NAW)- Telephone number and e-mail address- Date of birth and nationality of the main booker- Family composition and ages- Car registration number when it is parked on our premises- Credit card details to guarantee the booking- Camera images in and around our accommodations
MH processes the aforementioned personal data because they have been provided by you as the data subject on your own initiative, have been obtained in the context of providing the service, have been made known to us by third parties, including counterparties, or have become known via public sources.

Basis for processing personal data

MH processes the above-mentioned personal data exclusively on the basis of the grounds mentioned below as referred to in Article 6 of the GDPR: - legal obligation- performance of an agreement- obtained consent from the data subject(s)- legitimate interest- security interest.

Sharing personal data with third parties

VHL only shares your personal data with third parties to the extent necessary for the provision of services in compliance with the aforementioned purposes. This may include observation of the practice by another lawyer, (having) an expert investigation carried out or engaging another third party on behalf of and on behalf of MH, such as an IT supplier or accountant, but also providing your personal data in connection with (legal) proceedings or correspondence with the other party. In addition, MH may provide personal data to a third party, such as a supervisory authority or another body vested with public authority, to the extent that there is a legal obligation to do so. A processing agreement is concluded with the third party that processes your personal data on behalf of and on behalf of MH, whereby that third party is also obliged to comply with the GDPR. Third parties engaged by MH, who offer services as controllers, are themselves responsible for compliance with the GDPR for the (further) processing of your personal data. This includes an accountant, notary, other third party engaged for the purpose of a second opinion or expert report.
MH shares your personal data internally between all its affiliated companies.

Security of personal data

MH attaches great importance to the security and protection of your personal data and, taking into account the state of the art, ensures appropriate technical and organizational measures to guarantee a level of security appropriate to the risk. In the event that MH uses services from third parties, such as an IT supplier, MH will record agreements on adequate security measures in a processing agreement in the context of the protection of personal data.

Retention period of personal data

MH does not store personal data that is processed for longer than is necessary for the aforementioned purposes of the data processing or is required by law and regulations.

Privacy rights of data subjects

You can send a request for access, correction, restriction, objection, transferability of data, deletion of your personal data or withdrawal of previously given consent via the contact details below. You will receive further information from us within four weeks of receipt of your request.
Circumstances may arise in which MH cannot or cannot fully comply with your request as a data subject. This may include the confidentiality obligation of lawyers and statutory retention periods.

For the sake of clarity, the rights of the data subject include: a. right to information (receipt of privacy statement) b. right to access (with the exception of personal notes from the controller) c. right to correction, addition, deletion or shielding (only of factual data) d. right to object, right to data portability f. right to be forgotten g. right to limit the processing of personal data h. right to withdraw previously given consent. In order to ensure that we provide the relevant personal data to the correct person based on your request, we ask you to submit a copy of a valid passport, driver's license or identity card with a shielded passport photo and BSN number for verification purposes. MH will only process requests that relate to your own personal data.

Use social media

On the MH website(s), buttons (also called buttons) and/or links are included to promote or share web pages on social (media) networks or websites of third parties, such as Twitter, Linked in or Facebook. MH does not monitor and is not responsible for the processing of your personal data by and via such third parties. The use of these media is therefore at your own risk. Before you use these services of third parties, it is advisable to first read the privacy statement of those third parties.

Statistics and cookies

MH keeps track of usage data of the website(s) for statistical purposes. The personal data collected in this way are in principle anonymous and are not sold by MH to third parties.
In order to increase the user-friendliness of the MH website(s), so-called 'cookies' are used. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your computer, tablet or smartphone during your visit to the MH website(s). You can refuse the use of these cookies at any time, although this may limit the functionality and ease of use of the website(s).
The MH website uses cookies from Google Analytics to, in general, track user behavior and general trends and to obtain reports. This helps to improve the functioning of the website(s). Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so or if third parties process the information on behalf of Google. By using the MH website(s), you consent to the processing of the information by Google in the manner and for the purposes described above. Cookies are also placed through the use of buttons and/or links, as described above under 'Use of social media'. MH has no influence on the placement and use of cookies by these third parties.
